1 Senior Finance Officer

Job Summary:
The Senior Finance Officer is in charge of our organization field office cash management including program funding, payroll management, office utilities payment, financial reporting, finance training of both partners and our staff and the overall office administration and operations. The Senior Finance Officer supervises other finance and administration staff to ensure efficient operation of the office. The holder of this position reports to the Country Programs Director.
Specific Duties/Job Description:
Prepare and submit the Monthly Accounting Reports (MAR) and other financial reports as may be required.
Perform monthly bank and cash reconciliations.
Development of annual program budgets for various grants
Responsible for account reconciliations and preparation of cash flow forecasts
Timely preparation and submission of Wire transfer requests to HQ
Monitor expenses against the program budget, and provide precise detailed reports
Ensure the organization is tax compliant and ensure filing of the same where required
Prepare all required documentation for internal audits.
Responsible for cash management: Bank Accounts and Cash Books balances and the corresponding monthly reconciliations.
Reviewing partner financial reports to ensure compliance grant requirements
Ensure all accounting transactions and sequential coding of vouchers is made
Provide support to field partner offices on finance issues including accounting policies procedures and grant rules.
Provide financial training to partners on needed areas including policies & procedures, sub award rules, audit compliance.
Support continuous development and implementation of sound financial management systems and controls
Oversee office administrative roles and ensure day to day office operations are smooth
Supervise finance and administrative staff.
Any other duty as may be assigned by the Country Programs Director.

Skill and educational background
Advanced degree (Masters) in Finance, Accounting or a similar field
A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance management, accounting or any other related position, especially in a supervisory role
Proficiency in financial accounting software including payroll management systems
Experience in grants and sub-grants management especially within an international organization setting. Experience with US-government grants is desirable.
Competent understanding of the country’s finance laws including on corporate and individual taxation and cross-border banking systems.
Working knowledge of human resource policies and procedures within an international organization setting
Strong financial reporting and presentation skills
Proficient communication skills with demonstrable proficiency in both written and oral English
Strong inter-personal communication and relations skills
Competent knowledge of basic computer applications including Google Drive, MS Office Suite
Experience with international organizations is desired.
