1.Internship – Partnership and Resource Mobilization Intern

Duties And Responsibilities

With guidance and overall supervision of the Special Representative to AU and UNECA, and under close supervision from the Liaison Specialist, the Intern is expected to undertake the following tasks:

upport to analyze the strategic partnership related opportunities in line with the Liaison office priorities for partnership development and develop brief materials to use for preparations for meetings with potential partners
Monitor the Liaison Office’s donor reporting commitments, follow up and alerting on upcoming deadlines and provide support to review and quality assurance of narrative donor reporting
Analyze and maintain donor information and databases
Monitor updating of pipeline into Leads system and provide details to supervisor.
Provide inputs to resource mobilization strategies
Undertakes ad-hoc donor studies (donor policies, sectoral and geographic preferences, economic and political background, development assistance strategies etc.), research and other activities to identify funding opportunities
Undertake research for possible new partnerships
Develop intelligence and knowledge products related to partnerships and disseminate internally to support institutional capacity on partner relations
Participate in donor meetings and public information events, as delegated

Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);
Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.

Skills Competencies & Educational background

Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher).
Candidates with basic design and layout skills and adept in using Adobe Photoshop, In Design and other publishing software
Good interpersonal, networking and communication skills
Proven advocacy, analytical and writing skills
Demonstrated and extensive social media experience is an added advantage
Language:

Excellent communication skill (written and oral) in English language. Knowledge of French language is an asset.

Renumeration

Interns who are not in receipt of financial support from other sources such as universities or other institutions will receive a stipend from UN Women to partially subsidize their basic costs for the duration of the internship

Internship – Administrative Support

Duties And Responsibilities

With guidance and overall supervision of the Special Representative to AU and UNECA, and under close supervision from the Liaison Specialist, the Intern is expected to undertake the following tasks:

Maintenance of the Liaison Office calendar, contact list, arrangement of appointments and meetings
Screening of incoming correspondence; arranging zoom, Microsoft Teams meetings and conferences
Organization of workshops and conferences in coordination with other staffs
Provide support for international participants’ travel and logistics matters
Coordination of the information flow in the office and arrangement of on/off-line team meetings
Support in taking notes, drafting TORs, reports, documents
Assistance in the review supporting documents before approval of the Special Representative or the designated office and record any document
Support knowledge building and knowledge sharing
Provision of technical support in development/maintenance of digital platforms/social media channels were requested
Contribute to the preparation of financial reports
Support administration processes including procurement processes
Support as Executive Assistant to Special Representative to AU and UNECA
Support in scheduling agenda of Special Representative
Provide any administrative and logistics support needed

3. Job title: Internship – Coordination Intern

Duties and Responsibilities

With guidance and overall supervision of the Special Representative to AU and UNECA, and under close supervision from the Liaison Specialist, the Intern is expected to undertake the following tasks:

Assist the coordination of consultations related to the implementation of UN Women Liaison Office Strategic Note 2022-2025
Provide substantive and logistical support to the coordination of events, and advocacy initiatives
Contribute to concept notes, agendas and related working documents
Support the engagement of the Liaison Office in global and continental intergovernmental processes including by participating in, monitoring and reporting on informal and formal meetings, taking notes and drafting minutes
Review, analyze and draft summaries of reports and policy documents, and of intergovernmental outcomes, from a gender equality perspective; and draft documents (i.e. concept notes, briefing notes and presentations)
Prepare background research, briefing notes and talking points to inform UN Women Liaison Office engagement in advocacy platforms and initiatives
Participate in UN inter-agency and development partners’ coordination meetings, meetings with AU partners and prepare the notes for files and minutes
Handle inquiries from partners and facilitate logistics for Liaison Office visitors
Carry out other assignments as required
